Before rejoining private practice, Özlem spent 10 years in the private sector, as in-house counsel for the construction arm of a large Turkish Holding and Transparency International Turkey, a global organisation dedicated to eradicating corruption.
With expertise in international and commercial law, Özlem has substantial experience in construction, infrastructure and PPP projects for listed Turkish companies. Özlem is considered an expert in compliance matters assisting and supervising companies in the design, implementation and enforcement of comprehensive enterprise-wide compliance and ethics programmes, and providing compliance training and conducting third party and anti-corruption due diligence.
At Transparency International Turkey Özlem led the private sector department responsible for the anti-corruption and bribery compliance of private sector companies, supply chain management and training. She currently advises companies in relation to UK and global anti-bribery and corruption compliance programmes as well as how to monitor compliance with international treaties and commitments. Özlem prepared independent country reviews for OECD Anti-Bribery Convention, UNCAC and G20 beneficial Ownership Principles.
